General: Fossos live in shallow, sandy areas of the lake. They feed by sticking their long snout in the sand and filtering out the small worms and crustaceans with their gill rakers then expelling the sand through their gill covers. This behavior can be observed in the aquarium. Due to their large size they should be kept in a tank 100 gallons plus. Feed a good quality flake or pellet and suplement with cut shrimp or fish.
