Bayou Photography by Rickey Brown galleries - About
Born and raised in Louisiana, I started photography while in high school. Being on the annual staff only fueled my desire to burn film. My first real camera was a Yashica twin-lens reflex and I shot mostly Tri-X pan B/W film, and developed it in the school darkroom. While in the service I got a Yashica SLR and used it to capture many images from around the world. Later, after getting out, I had a Pentax ME Super and a Pentax IQ 90 using them for macro and nature photography. The latest equipment updates are extensive. After a short dalliance with digital I have returned to the more pleasureable experience of film. I find the photos more enriching and the exposure easier to attain. I use Canon, Leica, Olympus and Kowa classic cameras. I still use the computer for my editing and printing but find the quality of my photos, especially B&W, to be much more pleasing
I reside in NE La. and most of my pictures are centered around the simple life of the bayou. This is reflected in my love of sunrises and settings, cypress trees, deer, bear and turkeys. I will have the opportunity to do some photography on some very exclusive hunting property, after season closes, so I should have some real good deer pictures later on. If you have a favorite place let me know so i can photgraph it.
I am now selling prints of my quality outdoor and nature fine art pictures. Prices are between $25 and $45 depending on the picture and custom matting and framing is available. You can contact me by email byuphoto@yahoo.com and I will be happy to send you a copy. I have many more pictures available but i have such a slow connection it is hard to upload now.
I am available to shoot portraits, family functions, weddings or any event. I will come to you.
